Avon Big & Multiplied Mascara Review

Thanks to my District Sales Manager, I had the opportunity of trying Avon’s new Big & Multiplied mascara before it was released to the public. Prior to this, I used the Big & False Mascara on a regular basis. As far as my lashes go, I always craved long and full lashes. My lashes are short and scarce. From a distance, you can’t even tell that I have eyelashes. It’s a shame men are blessed with the best lashes but thank goodness, women can fake it until… well…we can fake it!

The Big & Multiplied Mascara is what Avon calls the “triple threat” — designed to detangle, separate and add volume. I don’t have much issue with tangled lashes as they’re near bald but this mascara definitely delivers as promised in terms of volume. So far, this is the best Avon mascara that offers the volume that I desire. Other than Big & False, I’ve also tried the Mega Effects Mascara and SuperShock Max. Keep in mind, this is no disrespect to any of the other mascaras as I’m sure each are perfect for someone (we all have our own individual goals); however, as far as my concern, I need the most volume and best length. Though this mascara does not add any length, I am pleasantly surprised with the volume. The amount of volume clearly shows in pictures so I don’t completely fail at my attempt to pretend as though I have beautiful, flowing lashes. I took a picture with Mega Effects on one eye and Big & Multiplied on the other (not included here). As far as the pictures, the Big & Multiplied showed better in pictures but honestly, the two eyes looked the same in person. Maybe it’s the formula :/ Big & Multiplied was way more pronounced.

For the last couple of weeks, this mascara has become one of my staple products. Yes, I wear false lashes but do not have the time to apply them everyday. I find that even with just this mascara, I feel more confident.  My goal is to have my makeup done in five minutes or less. Along with this mascara, I’m able to accomplish that with the help of my Perfect Eyebrow Kit, Glimmersticks Brow Definer and MagiX Face Perfector. That’s it! Four products and my entire face is done. At any rate, I decided to do a comparison of the Big & Multiplied (2 coats) versus my bare lashes. Let me know what you think. The mascara is currently on sale for $6.99 with normal price of $9.00. To purchase, click here for the Big & Multiplied Mascara.

Best Face Primer for Oily Skin EVER!!!

Face Primer that Actually Blurs Imperfections

Best primer for oily skin

Face Primer that actually blurs imperfections???

I can’t believe I haven’t done a review on Magix Face Perfector! OMG! This is seriously one of my staple products. I’ve included a before and after just so you can see why. In the before picture, I have absolutely nothing on my face (not even moisturizer). I simply washed my face and was ready to face the world.

Product Description:

“Upgraded formula! Is it makeup? No, it’s MagiX! It’s exclusive HD Finish Complex provides the “magic” in this colorless skin-perfector.

A revolutionary colorless gel-to-powder formula provides invisible coverage for a naturally flawless finish and keeps skin looking naturally matte for 7 full hours. The “magic” behind magiX is Avon’s patent-pending High Definition Finish Complex, an exclusive complex that works to counteract shine and visibly smooth the look of fine lines and pores! The Face Perfector can be used as a primer, but also can be used on its own to blur away and imperfections. The colorless primer is perfect for all day wear and fights the look of oily shine, it also has SPF 20 to help keep your skin healthy and glowing.

BENEFITS
• Dermatologist-tested
• Oil-free
• Non-comedogenic
• Smooth, glowing and radiant skin!
• SPF 20
• Contains a blend of Fleece Flower and Rose Extract

• Reduces the appearance of pores
• Suitable for all skin tones
• Sleek new packaging”

Why did I choose this face primer?

I wasn’t looking for a flawless finish. Honestly, I just wanted a face primer that could blur some of the discoloration and make me look more well-groomed without so much makeup. I was in Jamaica and I knew that I would engage in water activities. I didn’t want to look like my face was melting when I got out of the pool due to makeup but I also knew that I didn’t want to look like the undead in photos. I also wanted a sunscreen as I knew we’d spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun. My goal was to create a quick and easy makeup non-makeup look.

Before Picture: As you can see, I have slight discoloration in the middle of my cheek. I’m not sure if it’s acne scars, hormones, bad eating habits or what but it forms almost a square or makeup even a star (depending on who’s interpretation).

After Picture: I applied the MagiX Face Perfector (face primer) and mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cubes All Over Face Palette. No foundation and no concealer at all!

Makeup Routine:

  1. Washed face with Anew Vitale Gel Cleanser (now discontinued)…Find out what I use now
  2. Applied MagiX Face Perfector
  3. Applied mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cubes All Over Face Palette
  4. Completed eyebrows with Glimmersticks Brow Definer and Perfect Eyebrow Kit
  5. Applied Big & Multiplied Mascara

Viola! That was it! Quick and simple easy makeup look.

What’s my skin type?

I used to have dry skin but as I’ve gotten older, I have combination skin. The T-zone is usually oil and dry around the cheeks.

Do I have sensitive skin?

My skin is very sensitive. I easily breakout and it seems like I’m allergic to life! I have more discoloration on my cheek from cellphone use.

How does it feel?

The face primer is like a gel to powder so it’s very light and airy. It’s non-greasy and absorbs easily into the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy once applied and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth.

How much does the face primer costs?

Normally, it retails for $12.00 but currently on sale for $8.00.

How long have I used this product?

Edited: at the time of this review: or about four months but only underneath my foundation. This was the first time using the product alone. As of February 24, 2018, it is still my go-to face primer! I refuse to use anything else!

Would you recommend this product?

Most definitely!

Update: mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette Review

Updated:

I’m officially back in the United States and wanted to share with you my no makeup, tanned look. To create this look, I simply used Magix Face Perfector, defined my brows, Big & Multiplied mascara, and the mark. shimmer cubes. That’s it! No Foundation! No blush! No eyeshadow! I wanted to stick with very light makeup as we’d be out in the sun for the most part and in the water, I didn’t want to look like the undead after rising. I really concentrated on my cheeks and lightly dusted over my t-zone area. Pics below!

Original post:

Guess who’s going to Jamaica next week?!?! I am!!! Yep, that’s right! A week in Jamaica. Unfortunately, due to this harsh Chicago winter air, I haven’t had time to get a nice bronzy glow so I’m going to fake it until I make it in Jamaica. I decided to purchase mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette. The palette is available in two shades: Pearly Glow and Coral Glow. I decided to purchase Coral Glow as I wasn’t sure about the pigmentation showing well on my skin tone.

You can combine all shades for a nice all over bronzy glow or dab each shade individually with your finger. To check the consistency and pigmentation, I swatched each of the shimmer cubes with my finger tips. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of effort required to pick up a good amount of product. The formula felt as if a light cream. It wasn’t too heavy and I wouldn’t have any problem wearing throughout the day. I’ve never used any cream-to-powder formulas before so I thought it would dry a little heavy. To my surprise, it didn’t! I can definitely see myself wearing this face palette everyday in the summer. It can be worn alone or used to highlight or used as a bronzer. I tried blending all shades together and applied with a Kabuki brush and it looked great! It almost looked as if I had on a shimmering foundation. My skin looked nice and radiant!
