Fourteenth: It’s All About the Digital Business Cards, Baby!
As a new entrepreneur, I was so excited to get my business cards! I purchased thousands of cards with the intent to get out and tell the world about my business!
Over time, I’ve learned a few things about business cards:
1) 88% are thrown away
2) most people don’t follow up
3) used as a crutch
Here are my top 10 reasons why everyone should have a digital business card:
– Cost-effective
– No printing or shipping time
– Update information in minutes
– Easily shareable
– Easily traceable
– Multiple cards for multiple purposes
– Easily follow up
– More memorable
– Become better communicator
– Follow up with new contacts met via phone
ULTIMATE REASON: DIRECT PEOPLE TO SPECIFIC LINKS AND DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM ENTERING IT INCORRECTLY.

Eleventh: Be Unapologetic
We live in a world too busy to concern themselves with your problems but quick to tell you to humble yourself.
Maybe this is just my observation, but I see a lot of people saying “be humble” when they really just want you to “be quiet.”
When exactly are you supposed to speak up?
Now let me just say there is a difference between being braggadocious and showing humility. Yet, as SOON as a person cheers or shows an ounce of confidence, it’s a problem.
For the record: it is ok to celebrate your victories.
You worked for them! You’ve been through Hell for them!
You deserve it! Cheer on!
If you sacrificed every night to work on your business and finally got your first customer….
If you quit school in order to put your kids through school and now given the opportunity to go back or watch your kids graduate…
If you woke up each day, with the weight of the world on your shoulders, thought about seriously giving up and finally one day, you hear a message that says, “don’t worry, I got this!”
If every day, you’ve felt like you were worth nothing and then something so miraculous happens that reminds you that you are highly favored….
Why should you silence that?
Unfortunately, for many, it’s not just the circumstances but also what people have said: “you’ll be just like so-and-so” or “you will never accomplish that!”
We are all fighting or have fought a demon. Some talk about it, some don’t.
What I’ve realized is that there are a lot of people in this world who feel alne and unable to communicate that because as soon as they try to express themselves, people are telling them to be quiet — I mean humble 👀👀👀
Most of them have been quiet this whole time!
People may not always tell you what they’re going through but that doesn’t mean they’re not going through something. Doesn’t mean their life is perfect either.
There’s a reason why they’re celebrating. In order to celebrate the highs, you must have experienced the lows. So stop thinking people are trying to say they’re better than you! More than likely, they’re celebrating overcoming those lows because they didn’t think it was possible. They are grateful. Trust me. They also may be saying because they’ve done it, you can too!
So be happy for them.
If you knew what that person really went through, the struggles they’ve faced or the thoughts they’ve had…
Who knows? Their story might just inspire someone — someone who may be thinking about giving up! Sometimes, you really just need to stop and listen.
Their stories aren’t to tell you that your life is garbage. It’s usually to share how they’ve found treasure in theirs and hoping that maybe one day, you will too if you haven’t already.
Finding happiness and inner peace seems like a rarity these days. So many people are just simply existing. Can’t talk about your highs, can’t talk about your lows. So what are you really talking about?
I pray that one day each of you will have a true smile, not the one that you put on Facebook but the one that’s in your heart — true happiness.
As for me? You don’t have to worry. I won’t tell you to shut up. I’ll celebrate with you because I know it wasn’t easy.
Nothing happens overnight so I know you put in a good fight.
If you have a friend that you feel is “bragging” — be happy for them. Truly happy. When you can open your heart and truly extend it to others, your blessings grow — not decrease.
If you are going through something or just won a battle, don’t feel like you have to hide it.
No one should have to mute themselves to suppress someone else’s insecurities.
I choose to live my life unapologetically. What about you?
Tenth: The Truth About Speaking Your Mind
Are you wondering when you should speak up in your business and let your voice be heard? The answer is NOW! With some many people copying and pasting the same posts over and over, it is crucial that you let your voice be heard. It can be one of the most terrifying experiences, yet most rewarding if you’re looking to stand out from the crowd.
Ninth: Are You Really Busy or Just Faking It?
There is a difference between being busy and being productive. When I first launched my business, I spent the majority of my time being busy. I told myself that I had to become a master so I needed to spend my time learning. Honestly, it was really fear so I figured doing something, anything actually was considered building my business; however, those things got me absolutely nowhere! I was a master at doing nothing 😂
😂
😂 I was just wasting time and avoiding the inevitable! I wish I could get that time back but it was a good lesson and taught me a lot about myself.
Even now, I ask myself the question before I invest tons of time: are you really busy or just faking it?
Eighth: The Biggest Change that Turned My Business Around
Tune in to learn the biggest change I made in my business that allowed me to turn zero engagement to likes which eventually turned into new customers and team members.
Seventh: Who Holds You Accountable?
So often, as female entrepreneurs, we’re told that all you need is passion.
“Follow your heart and it will all work out.”
“Remember why you got started.”
Don’t get me wrong.
It’s a great starting place BUT you need more than that.
Everyone is passionate about something.
Does that mean that everyone will succeed? NO!
Passion is the starting point. Acknowledge what sets your heart on fire and gives you hope but you just can’t go from there.
Then, the next step is being able to see beyond that dream, know that it’s attainable and create/work a game plan in alignment with the ultimate goal.
Give yourself goals and tasks so that you stay on track.
For me, the most important is ACCOUNTABILITY. Without holding yourself accountable, will you really have the discipline to do something day in day out when no one is watching???
When the days get longer… the kids won’t go to sleep…you really just want to watch Netflix and chill…when everything just seems to “come up” all at the same time. Who will make sure that you are on task?
This is why most fail. No one to answer to — to beat down their throats when things aren’t done —- or to motivate them on their hectic days.
There’s only one person to blame.
Welcome to the wonderful world of entrepreneurship. When things don’t get done, it’s because YOU didn’t do it.
So what can you do to push past all the excuses?
Sixth: New Video Training on How to Find New Customers
Accouncement! New tactic to find customers for free.
Fifth: How to Avoid Profile Being Marked as Spam
In this episode, I discussed a lesson learned using Facebook; however, it can be applied to all social media platforms. Facebook usually sets the trends for other social media as it owns more than one social media platform and it is the social media GIANT. Get into the habit of setting healthy and productive social activity.
In a study, they learned about 70% of consumers trust people over brands. In another study, it was discovered that 84% of millennials do not trust advertising! So how does one promote their business or brand online? Showing a bit of yourself is one of the easiest, yet most intimidating ways to get your face/brand in front of raving fans who linger onto your every word.
In this podcast, I’m discussing common spam red flags, how to see what your profile/page looks like to the public and how to avoid being reported for spam. Why is this important? Facebook no longer requires you to take the additional step to report a profile. They’re prompting users now as soon as they decline the friend request 😱 Could your profile be at risk?
Fourth: Not Yet!
A lesson learned from my 6-year old niece. So often we set ourselves up with unrealistic expectations of reality. When some asks if we’ve accomplished something, don’t beat yourself up by saying no, start uplifting yourself by saying “Not Yet.”
Third: You Can’t Be Epic with a Basic Attitude!
Forget the saying you normally hear, let’s talk about some self-sabotaging actions and beliefs that you probably don’t even notice you’re doing!
